Su Superstar Korean Cuisine, Tea Tozz @ Scape & Udders @ Upp Thomson

Monday, 3 March 2014

In this post, I will be talking about my visit to 2 places, a korean restaurant and a cafe.

Firstly, let's start with the korean one. This restaurant is called "Su Superstar Korean Cuisine" located at Scape.

Well apparently, their tissue provided is in the form of.. A toilet roll? Interesting huh. Hahahaha.

It's cool how we are allowed to key in our orders by ourselves, which we will then proceed to pay for our bill at the cashier when we're done, so that they can confirm our orders.

I would have tried my all-time favourite Korean food, the Hot Stone Mixed Rice, which Clarette got for herself; However I've always been eating it whenever I drop by the normal food courts in shopping malls, so I decided to give it a miss this time. Instead, I had the feel for soupy food items and hence I ordered the Spicy Seafood Soup for myself ;) To be honest, I REALLY WANTED TO EAT EVERYTHING THAT WAS ON THE MENU. HAHAHAHA. I had such a dilemma deciding what I would like to eat :( Oh, we both got a set of the Korean Rice Cakes to share too! As for our beverages, we tried this "Rice Punch" and "Aloe".

We were amazed when our drinks were served, because the cans were surprisingly small and adorable!! The can drinks cost $1.50 each though, I kind of hated the fact that the serving for the drink "Aloe" was pretty small :( Rice Punch tastes pretty unique and refreshing, while Aloe tastes just like the normal Aloe Vera drink we usually have, but in a way it's slightly nicer hehe. Oh and if you ever order rice punch, remember to shake it before you open the can!!

Hot Stone Mixed Rice @ $9.80
It's so cool that we are given the bottle of red pepper paste so that we can squeeze out the amount which we desire for to mix in. Usually in the food courts, the red pepper paste is already included inside, and all you have to do is mix. I would give a thumbs up for this food item, the standard is definitely much better than those in the food courts!

Spicy Seafood Soup @ $9.80 as well.
Inside the soup, there were clams, shrimps, cuttle fish, tofu, beaten eggs, mushrooms, vegetables. Heavenly yummy!

😍😍 My favourite.

They only have one of these in the soup, such treasure 😍

Korean Rice Cake @ $5.50
It's kind of special because there's actually meat and noodles alongside with the rice cakes, and the gravy is just sooooo awesome i was so in love with it. It tastes like seasame, but it was really really good! The rice cakes and meat were just wowwwwwww.

So, are you drooling yet? HAHAHAHAHA.

Our final bill totaled up to be $29.85, which means that the meal cost about $15 for each of us. I would say that it's pretty much reasonable and affordable, considering the servings of the food, quality and taste, and that the food waiting time was definitely less than 15 minutes if my memory hasn't failed me.

Dining at Su Superstar Korean Cuisine was definitely a great experience, and it made my tummy really really happy. So if you love Korean food, it's definitely a nice place to visit with your friends! :)

Well they say that girls will always have some space left in their stomachs after a meal, specifically for dessert. Sure enough, we both have been craving for the shaved ice which we saw from the small shop outside before dinner, called "Tea Tozz". I believe most people have heard about it since Scape is such a common place. It offers your own customization of dessert with 3 steps.

We both chose the matcha shaved ice as our base, red beans as our toppings and condensed milk for our sauce. As far as I can remember, it was my first time trying out shaved ice and the fact that it felt like I was having ice cream kind of amazed me. It was refreshing, but the serving of red beans was a little conserved so we were trying our best to save them bit by bit to go with the matcha flavoured shaved ice. HAHAHA. The taste of the condensed milk was pretty much covered by the taste of the matcha, so it didn't make much difference. Hence... Condensed milk with matcha is a nono.

It cost us $3.80.

Isn't the design of the cup cute? I love it 😍

And that's the end of our date, with our tummy filled happily, having satisfied all our cravings. Oh, I would definitely visit the shop again when I crave for Korean food!!!

3rd March 2014;

I decided to head down to Upper Thomson Road where there are a stretch of small shops and cafes around, since it's convenient for me to go back home from there as it's nearer and more direct to where I stay. But then to my disappointment.. Habitat Coffee Cafe, Wafflelicious and other cafes were closed. I ended up making my second visit to  Udders, and this time I tried out their pancakes!

The Udder Beef @ $11.90.
The beef patties were good, so were the pancakes. The food item comes with 5 pieces of grilled beef patty, 5 pieces of pancakes and some greens with balsamic sauce (If im not wrong.) A small serving of mushroom sauce accompanied the set. Considering the price and quantity, it was pretty worthy since the whole set is actually filling, which defnitely filled up my crying stomach.

Of course, a cup of cappuccino to accompany my meal. ($2.20)
It isn't special in any way, nor was it really awesome, but the standard is certainly acceptable!

The pancakes at Udders are all priced below $12, be it those savoury ones under the main course or the sweet treats of pancakes. I can't exactly remember the cost price of the waffles and ice cream though, after all it has been a few months since I've last visited Udders!

Udders can be a really nice place to hang out with your friends, and it's pretty advantageous since there are socket plugs around. However, I'm not sure why it was so crowded today, but it definitely isn't a nice place to chill on your own. Especially when there are many people around, it's quite noisy, in my opinion. Furthermore, I don't think there was any access to their WiFi there and so i'm here blogging at home instead. As such, I wouldn't recommend people who love to spend some time alone at cafes to do so at Udders.

The atmosphere there is good, just that there isn't really any seats that would provide you with some personal space. Despite all that i've said, in overall I honestly think that Udders serves pretty tasty food, and the staff there are really friendly :) So do drop by with a group of friends as it can be a really fun place to chill out together after school!

Thank you each and everyone who took the time to read my blog post again, have a great night ahead ❤
