Brasel's first giveaway

Come take part in my first giveaway!

If you are a loyal viewer of my YouTube videos, you will know that I am holding a (almost) 40k-subscribers-special giveaway!

It is my first giveaway, and is open for everyone to participate. However, I apologise that I am unable to provide more valuable and useful things in my first giveaway. In addition, my financial status does not allow me to choose more winners for this giveaway. Nevertheless, I hope that you guys will still enjoy participating in this giveaway! :-)

Giveaway details:

ONLY 2 WINNERS WILL BE CHOSEN

How to participate?

1. Follow my personal account @ brasel13 on instagram.
2. Follow my crafts account @ embrayce.crafts on instagram.
3. Leave your comments on the photo that will be posted on my personal instagram account on 30th July.

How it works:

You are to leave your comment on the photo uploaded on my personal account ONLY with these 3 information:

- Make a guess on what the next tutorial's content is based on the photo uploaded
- Tell me why you wish to win this giveaway
- Tell me why you like my crafts

Any comments left on my crafts account will not be considered as participation for the giveaway. Only comments left on my personal account will be counted.

I will be uploading 2 photos on 30th July;
1 photo on my personal account, the other on my crafts account.

The photo on my personal account will show part of the box card made from the tutorial, whereas the one on my crafts account will serve as a greater hint for you to guess the answer correctly and become eligible for the 1st-place winner position.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How will the 2 winners be chosen?

1st place winner:

The criteria is that you will have to guess the content of the next tutorial CORRECTLY.
Among comments with the correct guesses, I will pick the comment with explanations that appeal to me the most.
(Therefore you can try to be creative with your reasons!)

2nd place winner:

No criteria. As long as you participate, you stand a chance - even if your guess is incorrect!
The winner will be picked randomly. The choosing process will be done in a creative manner & shown through a video for proof.
This video will be shown in the same video when winners are announced.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When will the giveaway start and end?

The giveaway will open on Saturday, 30th July, at 6PM (SINGAPORE GMT + 08:00)

It will close on Monday, 1st August, at 6PM (SINGAPORE GMT + 08:00)

NOTE: ANY COMMENTS LEFT AFTER 6PM ON 1ST AUGUST WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE PARTICIPATION.

DIY Manual Scroll Scrapbook

If you are tired of plain, simple, cards or even box cards, I have something special for you today!

Let me introduce my own "DIY manual scroll scrapbook", which i'd actually call it "Scroll-in-a-box Scrapbook".

This craft is actually really simple, yet unique. It may look difficult to make because of its scrolling mechanism, but trust me, IT IS NOT!
You will only need as short as 3 to 4 hours to make one of this.

So what is this craft's main feature?

Definitely needless to say - the scrolling mechanism.

You can create a timeline using this scroll to portray your heartfelt feelings with words, and photos, to your gift recipient. Or, you can simply use this like a scrapbook and add on your pictures & messages.

The special thing about this craft is that you can open up the box-holder (which you'll have to anyway), to roll up your scroll at the end of the day after finishing reading the scroll itself. It's not troublesome, actually. Think of it as a fun thing to do...

Well i'm sorry that I have no idea how to make it such that it'd retract back by itself... Hahahaha.

Another thing is that you can also make this manual scroll scrapbook slightly smaller, and include it in your box card as an element in the center. Or else, you can make your box card larger to fit your scroll element.

The cons of this craft is that you won't be able to stick on any 3D stickers or decorations in the scroll because you-know-why-with-common-sense, they will hinder the rolling up of the scroll and hinder the scrolling mechanism... How sad.

Nevertheless, this craft is still really fun to make, so why not give it a try?

To help you guys out, i've placed the materials list as well as templates below!

These are the templates for the scroll's holder (which is the black box).  The second one shows the enlarged section for the middle segment with the cut-out rectangle

Note: the horizontal length for the 2 sections beside 10.5cm, is 6.5cm each. I missed out these measurement info there i'm so sorry!

*NOTE: SORRY FOR ANOTHER MISTAKE. The width of the cut-out rectangle should be estimated 7.9 ~ 8.1cm. I WROTE THE MEASUREMENTS WRONGLY BY MISTAKE, SORRY :-(

This is the template for the rectangle strip needed to wrap your scroll's body

Feel free to save the images!

Now that you have all that you need to make this manual scroll scrapbook, go ahead and watch the tutorial!

How to make a staircase explosion box card tutorial

Hello, today I will be introducing to you my latest craft tutorial on my YouTube Channel
"How to make a staircase explosion box card"

This design is nothing typical compared to most box cards, since the main highlight is a flight of stairs in the center of the exploding box card. Rather than the usual simple box cards, let's add on a flight of stairs to make things look more amusing!

The design shown in the video consists only of 2 layers: 1 base layer & 1 sub layer
The overall size of the box itself when closed, is 10cm square base & 10cm in height

What you see in the image above are what you will learn.

In this tutorial, you will mainly learn:

1. How to make the support for the staircase
2. How to make a flight of stairs
3. Assembling the stairs onto its support
4. Attaching the staircase onto the box card
5. Making a carpet for the staircase
6. Adding a mini banner onto the staircase

The things that are not covered would be the making of the box card base, layer & cover as well as decorating of the staircase.
However, all templates and measurements are included (including the base, layer & cover)

Here is an image showing the list of materials that you will need:

Like you've seen in the image, the colour theme is up to your own preference. For my design I used 3 different shades of blue & the colour white.

To help those of you who would like to save the templates as images, they can be found below.
The images show the templates & measurements for the various segments.
Please feel free to save the images.

Exploding Box Card Tutorial 2: Making the base & cover

The long awaited Tutorial 2 on how to make a basic box card a.k.a exploding box card is here!
In order to let your creative juices flow, becoming familiarised with making the base is the foundation to better creations!

DIY Crafts | How to make a box card: #Tutorial 01

You don't have to be talented to be able to do DIY crafts - this is the wrong mindset of the majority.

Instead of saying "I can't do art", why not tell yourself to give it a go?

I personally feel that everyone has the ability in doing art and design, what matters most is practicing and the interest to learn. The issue only arises when you give up without trying again after failing, not when you fail.

Therefore, I'd of course, love to help those out there who may be interested in doing DIY cards, or specifically, boxcards. Hence I decided to make tutorials.

Here are some screenshots to arouse your interest. The video includes of course, my own "introductory promotional video" which I filmed and edited, and then the actual opening & tutorial itself, followed by a recap through animations before the closure.

The last two screenshots are the projected view of a box. What comes first should be understanding, hence it is important that you watch this tutorial #01 before tutorial #02, which will be uploaded soon this week.
Feel free to comment and let me know on any opinions or suggestions you may have. You can ask me any questions too if in doubt.

Enjoy!
