Innisfree Moisture Lip Treatment Review

So I've been dying to update my blog since many weeks ago but I've been too hooked up with my school work, my crafts making and of course, managing my YouTube Channel.
Finally, my holidays are here and I'm just back once again to blog about yet another product review!
Today, I'm so happy to share with you guys a new found favourite of mine - a lip product!
Nope, as you've seen in the photo, it is definitely not a review on a lipstick, lip gloss, or whatever lip make-up product. Instead, it's a product that provides care to your lips that are constantly in contact with your lipsticks or lip make-up remover. (That is if you put on lipstick often of course!)

Well, even if you don't, I believe some of us encounter problems such as dry or chapped lips. These can be due to regular exposures to the hot sun, or even the wind and cold weather. Even when you do not drink enough water, your lips can become dry too. Some may say that they don't encounter such problems due to these factors. I can fully understand that because there are just days when my lips feel so dry for no reason...
Therefore, today I am introducing to you guys the "Moisture Lip Treatment" from Innisfree which i've been using for about a couple of months!

What the product claims:
"High-moisture and high-nutrition lip cream that moisturises and exfoliates chapped and rough lips"

(I apologise for not being able to post a photo of the ingredients list, it is extremely small and the product doesn't come with a box packaging.)



Directions of usage:
"After washing the face, apply a small amount (the size of a grain) around chapped lips. Gently spread by using fingers. Before sleep, apply a thick layer on the lips to use as a lip mask."



Cost of product:
Approximately $7  (I can't remember the exact cost that well since it's been some time, it was definitely below $10)

What's my opinion on the Moisture Lip Treatment from Innisfree?

As someone who rarely uses lip balm (or none at all) before I purchased this product, I did encounter problems of having dry lips that were occasionally chapped. While I was at Innisfree one day, I chanced upon this product and wondered just how, will this product help to care for my lips.
After pondering over for some time, I decided that my lips need some care and thus I purchased this product. Mmmhmm as you can see, it did not disappoint me!
On the first day I used this product, my lips were pretty dry and had some chapped areas. That night, I applied a really thick layer before I went to bed and the next day I woke up...
Felt like I experienced something so magical.


Hahaha, sounds exaggerating? I'm being very honest! My lips felt really soft and moisturised the next morning. After washing my face and rinsing my mouth, brushing my teeth and everything else (meaning the product was washed off), my lips still did not feel as dry like the night before! I could see that the chapped areas disappeared slightly as well, or perhaps more than that. 
So I tested it out for a few more days and applied every night dilligently, only to see good results in no time!


What I would say is that it is pretty much good enough to apply just a slightly thick layer of the product onto your lips before you sleep, on nights when your lips feel really dried out or chapped. After a couple of days your lips are very likely to recover and look more "hydrated". As a form of care, you can apply a thin layer every night before you sleep to keep your lips moisturised.

The product is dark yellowish in colour and has a pretty buttery smell and taste. It's not a watery product, but instead has a sticky kind of texture. You may feel that it's greasy when applied, but you'll get used to it! If you apply only before you sleep and not before you put on your makeup (e.g. your lipstick), it should be fine.

So will I continue purchasing this product?

Hmm I suppose I will for now! It's still lasting me quite well for a few months in terms of quantity too! Until I find something I'd prefer over this.. I'll probably not change my mind.





So say bye bye to dry, rough and chapped lips now!

TheFaceShop Ricewater Bright or Innisfree Apple Juicy Eye & Lip Make-up Remover?

How have you guys been? It's been about a month, BUT...

I'm back with yet another review! Of course, if you were a diligent reader of my blog you'd more or less already guess that it's once again, a review on beauty & cosmetics products. 

"Oh no... Yet another Korean product review?!"
That's right! But I''m sure that you girls would love it! I wouldn't call it a proper detailed review but rather, a comparison and my opinions on two different brands of eye & lip make-up remover. 
Sure, boys are welcomed to read on too! You'll never know, it may just hit upon you that they'd make useful gifts to your female friends!

Have any of you girls ever faced difficulties in removing your make-up? Needless to say, the most stubborn ones to remove are always the eye and lip make-up. If you are one of those girls who love dolling up or just simply enjoy putting on make-up, we all know how dreading it is to spend minutes & minutes to remove our make-up - after which follows, the long process of cleansing and a skincare regime. 


They're all done for a reason..
"IF I DON'T, MY PORES WILL CLOG, MY COMPLEXION WILL TURN AWFUL, PIMPLES MIGHT APPEAR."



But when you're finally home after a long day out...

"Argh I'm so lazy..."
"Can I not wash up?"
"Can't my make-up just disappear on its own?"
"Why on earth are there such things like pores and complexion, !@%#*^!#!"

"Somebody... Please... Help me.... Remove my make-up..... I.. Am.. SO TIRED."




Or if you ever unintentionally fall asleep without washing up...
"MY COMPLEXION IS SO DEAD."



I feel you, girl.

   I used to believe that there isn't a need to have a separate eye and lip remover... But my opinions changed not long after - I've to thank the Hada Labo's make-up remover. 
Hada Labo's make-up remover although hydrating, always felt extremely drying on my palms after usage. After using for about a week or two, I decided that I couldn't withstand that feeling of dryness - not even imagining what such a product could possibly to do my facial complexion in the long run. 
Note: I am not criticising this product, because I believe every individual has his or her own preference and skin type.


Thanks to that, I went to The Face Shop in hope to purchase a better make-up remover (cleansing milk/oil) and there, I found my savior - Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover, which I purchased alongside the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Milk. Just hearing the words "rice water" immediately tells me that these product are somewhat natural. Best of all, we've probably often heard how good rice water is for our skin!
The alternative brand of eye & lip remover which i've tried after I had finished the above mentioned, was from Innisfree. The product I've purchased was Apple Juicy Eye & Lip Remover.


It is always beneficial to use a separate eye & lip makeup remover as the areas around these 2 facial features are thinner and more sensitive. Furthermore, having being produced in order to cleanse these 2 areas specifically, it would be more effective in thoroughly removing the make-up.




So.... Which of the two products will I recommend?

TheFaceShop - Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover

What I really love about the Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover is how gentle and light it feels on my skin. With Rice Water extracts included, this product is pretty much considered natural. Like I've mentioned earlier on, rice water is also good for your skin! It is important that we understand how thin and sensitive our eye and lips area are, therefore the products we use on these areas can't be harsh. I'm happy to say that this eye & lip remover from The Face Shop is 100% fit for the job! I extremely love how this product also keeps your eye & lip area hydrated after usage as it has a moisturising effect. 
Of course, we are more curious as to how effectively this product removes our stubborn (and annoyingly difficult to remove) eye & lip makeup.
Nothing's more tiring than having to remove your mascara - especially waterproof ones. On top of that, we also have our lipstick that was put on for hours, and if you are a fan of matte lipsticks... 
Oh dear.
With Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover, I was able to effectively remove my eye & lip make-up with the help of Etude House's Round Cotton. This product needs to be shaken before usage in order to get a better mixture of the contents. 
After soaking a piece of cotton pad with the product, I'll usually place it over my eyelids for an approximation of 25 seconds. Most of my eye make-up would come off, and I'd follow up with the unused side of the cotton pad to clean off any remains as well as to thoroughly remove my mascara. Not only that, this product also thoroughly removes my lipstick.
The Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover by far has been one that I really love using, since it causes no irritation. Despite having the product entering my eyes accidentally while removing my eye make-up, I felt no pain. So much ease - even the cleaning of areas under my eye waterlines was a peaceful process! Better still, if you love products that has got no strong fragrance, the rice water bright eye & lip remover is just the right one for you. It has a light pleasant yet natural smelling scent.. Mmmmm, I love it!

The Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip remover costs $18.90.






Innisfree - Apple Juicy Eye & Lip Remover

The Apple Juicy Lip & Eye remover from Innisfree has a very light sweet and sour apple scent, and focuses on preventing the skin from drying out with the help of apple minerals. 
In my opinion, this product is very effective in removing stubborn eye & lip make-up. My make-up usually comes off easily with the help of cotton pads as well, considerably slightly more effective than the Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover from The Face Shop.
Being a product from Innisfree, which we all know is a brand that uses mainly organic ingredients, this product definitely does not pale in comparison in terms of being natural. 
Honestly speaking, the Apple Juicy Eye & Lip remover does not cause any dryness which is good. However, what I really dislike is the discomfort that it gives me whenever the product gets into my eyes. It really, really, stings - so much that I teared up once. I had to rinse my eyes so many times - felt like a thousand years ㅠㅠ - to get rid of the irritation. Right from the first day I tried this product, I found myself dreading the removal of any eye make-up again if I ever put them on. I began to fear the stings and how it might harm my eyes, to the extent that I tried not to wear any eye make-up (since I hardly do so anyway). 
Though in contrast, I have to admit that I love how the Apple Juicy Lip & Eye remover is extremely effective in removing my matte lipstick everyday. 

This Apple Juicy Eye & Lip remover costs $11.90 if I've remembered it correctly.







Comparison between the two brands of eye & lip remover

I personally feel that the Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover from The Face Shop was more moisturising. As compared to the Apple Juicy Lip & Eye Remover from Innisfree, it is also less harsh on my skin and causes no irritation or pain. However, in terms of the effectiveness of removing stubborn make-up, I would prefer the one from Innisfree. 



And the recommended product is?

The Face Shop's Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip Remover!
1. Causes no irritation and stinging pain in my eyes 2. Causes no breakouts or redness anywhere after usage  3. Keeps my eye & lip areas moisturised 4. Scent is light and pleasant 5. Not harsh but light & gentle on skin 6. Contains natural rice water extracts that is good for skin 7. Effective in removing eye & lip make-up as claimed 8. Value for money


As mentioned, although the Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip remover's effectiveness may pale slightly in comparison, I would say that I'd rather use one that is more mild and comfortable on my skin. It may also take slightly longer to remove my mascara and lipstick at times, but I feel that it is a safer product since it does not sting my eyes. 
It is without a doubt that the Rice Water Bright Eye & Lip remover is more costly. However, as a person who chooses comfort over everything else, I wouldn't mind paying a few dollars more just for that. 
In my opinion, I wouldn't find it worthy to purchase a cheaper product just because it is really effective - not when it makes me unhappy and causes discomfort. I'd love to say that I am neutrally inclined in my liking towards the Apple Juicy Lip & Eye remover from Innisfree, but I'll have to honestly say that I've categorised this product slightly towards my dislikes section; Even though I really love Innisfree's products. (Y'know, you don't exactly love every single product from a brand you love)

Well, it still varies according to each person's preference and skin types, so do try out these two products anyway.

Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Round Clear Cotton Pad Review

Hello everyone, I hope you've all been well lately!
In this blog post, I will be sharing with you guys my new-found favourite beauty tool from Etude House which I extremely love for my daily skincare!

Have you always been annoyed by cotton pads or swipes that leave threads and fibre all over your face during your skincare routine or make-up removal? 
Fret not! This beauty tool which I've found from Etude House will definitely wash away all those worries!







About the product

This product from Etude House is called the Round Clear Cotton Pad under "My Beauty Tool, Secret". 
Extremely soft and 100% made of cotton, these cotton pads are perfect & exclusively designed for your daily application of toner on your skin. 
In my opinion these are extremely soft and smooth on your face which also help to gently exfoliate and remove any dead skin!

One packaging like this costs $6.00.








The packaging

The Etude House's Round Clear Cotton Pads come in a packaging of 80 pieces, stacked inside a transparent bag that is resealable after opening. The opening that is light pinkish in colour adds some princess-like theme to the product itself, just like any other Etude House products (the packaging of their products are always so cute and pretty!)

The fact that the packaging's resealable is just another reason to love this product. Why? Because it's more hygienic since less germs, bacteria or dust can enter the packaging and 'contaminate' the cotton pads, which will then be used on your face. 

Imagine all those dirt on your face... Ew, no way are they gonna ruin your complexion with this resealable bag!! 

The packaging itself is also slim and easy for storage, definitely do not take up much space in your cabinet or wherever you store them at. Really convenient!

The Cotton Pads

The cotton pads are 100% made of cotton and has a very special top layer as seen in the photo above. They are made of two layers, with actual cotton wool in the middle. (See photos below)

I believe this is one of the reasons why the cotton pads are extremely soft on your face. (Good thing that those cotton threads don't come off easily!)








My Personal Opinion after using Etude House's Round Clear Cotton Pads

The previous two brands of cotton pads/swipes I've used didn't really meet my satisfaction - cotton pads from Sasa and Swisspers Cosmetic Squares from Guardian. 
Sadly to say... Both left terrible fibres and threads on my face all the time which I really hated, though the ones from Sasa weren't as bad. 
Usually, I'd be worried to even gently wipe these cotton pads (which were soaked with my toner) across my face for fear of the messy threads coming loose. Additionally, these cotton pads from Sasa and Guardian weren't exactly soothing on my skin - what I mean is that it felt a little rough and harsh on my skin. Hence what I did most of the times was dabbing and patting the cotton pads on my face instead - which as a result left more threads and cotton fibres....

However, in contrast to the above two brands which I've tried, these Round Clear Cotton Pads from Etude House did not give me any troubles of threads and fibres after usage! With these, I could easily apply my toner without any worries. Furthermore, they are really, really soft on my face - it almost feels like a smooth piece of silk (if that's the best I can use as an example) running across my face; neither did it feel harsh nor rough either. 
I was free to gently wipe these cotton pads across my face - and I really mean, gently. Personally, I wouldn't like swiping them across hard since it might damage and hurt my skin no matter how soft a cotton pad can be. On more sensitive areas with pimple bumps, I dab the cotton pads onto my skin instead.

 What I really love about these cotton pads is that they help in gentle exfoliation and removes dead skin on your face and neck! (Which is probably why there are those linings on the top layer)

Trust me, it absorbs really well - I would say, just nice for your toner application. Compared to other cotton pads that becomes overly soaked, "soggy" and "lumpy", these from Etude House still remains in their original shape.  






After loads of constant dabbing and wiping across my face...

You can see that the cotton pad still stays intact with no traces of loose fibre and threads! 
When I was using other brands of cotton pads, I had to use at least 2 of them (one after another) because the threads came off too easily, if not - too overly soaked and the cotton itself became "lumped" together for me to use them properly. Meaning that after some dabbing, the threads came loose and I had to change to a new cotton pad.
(More wastage of cotton pads AS WELL AS YOUR TONER!!)

I'm really sorry that I couldn't do a comparison with other cotton pads since I've got none left.





When soaked with running tap water

I placed a piece of the Etude House's round clear cotton pad under the running tap, and the cotton pad although completely soaked was still perfect for usage - not soggy at all like typical cotton pads!




When the soaked cotton pad was placed on the back of my hand for about 15 seconds and then constantly dabbed on my hand a few times...

No threads of fibre and cotton was left on my hand, which usual cotton pads did. It did not dry off quickly on my hand too! Most cotton pads would leave fibres of cotton for sure, hence I really love these ones from Etude House.


(P.S I lost the photo which was taken after the soaked cotton pad was removed from my hand) 







For Make-up removal

(I actually did take photos of the cotton pad before & after my make-up removal.. which sadly, I did not insert my memory card back then.)


These round cotton pads from Etude House are also pretty useful in removing make-up, I'd say. I feel that it removes your make-up more thoroughly due to the exfoliation. Since it is soft and smooth on your skin, swiping it across didn't hurt as well - especially during the removal of your eye make-up. 
(It felt harsh even when I tried to gently wipe other cotton pads across my eye lids to remove any eye make-up thoroughly) 


However, I prefer to use cotton pads from Swisspers for the first step in my eye make-up removal. Swisspers cosmetic squares were really useful in soaking in my make-up remover which I then placed the soaked cotton pads over my eye lids for at least 25 seconds. Since they are easily-soaked, it was easier to remove the make-up firsthand without any "harsh wiping". Therefore, the second step in my eye make-up removal would be using the round cotton pads from etude house to thoroughly clean my eye lids and remove any make-up residues before I proceed to remove the rest of my base make-up.
I also love how these round cotton pads from etude house aided me in exfoliating any dead skin on my lips as I remove my lipstick each time!







Overall

The Round Clear Cotton Pads from Etude House are extremely good to use, since they are soft and not harsh on your skin. It's even more perfect when they help to gently exfoliate and remove any dead skin too! My skin complexion is noticeably better ever since I started using them, though it is definitely not the sole cause of the result. I believe that the recent products I've been using helped me with that, as well as my food consumption and so on. 
I don't exactly need more than 1 cotton pad for toning nowadays because of this beauty tool - it saves my cotton pad usage as well as toner too! Usually, if my face is still damp with the toner after application with the cotton pads, I'll use my finger tips to pat them for absorption. 


How do you know whether the cotton pad removed any dead skin?   If you wipe your face with the cotton pad soaked with your toner and there's greyish 'residues' seen on your cotton pad after which, it means that some exfoliation was done. 
Of course if there aren't any, you should be happy! Because it means that your face is more or less free from dead skin. (I usually see them after I wipe the cotton pad across my neck) 
The cleaner the cotton pad seems to be after each usage, the better!
It is always good to use a cotton pad for the toning stage of your skincare regime since it is more hygienic. However, since not everything can be applied using a cotton pad, be sure to wash and keep your hands as well as fingertips clean before you touch your face!









Will I repurchase this product?

Absolutely yes!  Even though it is pretty costly for 80 pieces of cotton pads, $6.00 in my opinion, is worth the money for something that is of good quality and not harsh on my skin. 



Pros
- Good packaging - Easy & convenient storage - Resealable opening for better hygiene purposes - Good quality; leaves no fibre & threads - Soft & smooth on the skin - Exfoliates and remove dead skin - Good for applying toner - Good for make-up removal - Saves cotton pad & toner usage



Cons
- Price is costly for the quantity (but worth it!)


Therefore I strongly recommend everyone of you out there who are seeking for cotton pads that would be comfortable on your skin to try out these Round Clear Cotton Pads from Etude House!!!
Etude House also offers a variety of different cotton pads too! If I ever try them out, I'll share my experience with all of you here again ;-)

The Face Shop Clean Face Clear Away Spot Review

Annyeong everyone!

Let me introduce to you this little bottle of goodness which aided me in clearing away pimples and preventing further breakouts on my face.

This product is called the "Clean Face, Clear Away Spot", which can be purchased from The Face Shop. (Yes I know, another Face Shop product..)

If you still do not know, The Face Shop is a well-known Korean Cosmetic Shop. I've also previously posted reviews on a couple of make-up products from TheFaceShop:

About the product

What it claims:

"This new and imrpoved, Tea Tree extract treats oily or problem skin more quickly and effectively" 

"This specialised acne spot product brings out immediate effect on troubled area."

"Calm and prevent breakouts, quick and effective!"

Packaging:

As you can see, the colour scheme of the bottle and packaging itself includes more of the beige and brownish tones. Pretty simple - nothing fancy - i kinda loved the visual of this product. The bottle is transparent, so it is definitely easy to know when the product is finishing.

P.S: I couldn't take a snapshot of the inside since mine's finishing & there's nothing much to show. If you search online you should be able to find more photos of this product.

The product itself & its texture:

The solution inside is just like water, with a small amount of pinkish powder-like substance sitting at the bottom of the bottle. 

Directions as stated on packaging:

"At the final stage of skincare, without shaking the solution, dip clean cotton swab into the container and apply directly to blemishes."

Cost of product:

$18.00

Ingredients

In my opinion...

This product works pretty well for me. I added this into my skincare routine as the last step every day and night, ever since I purchased it. However I tend to apply less of this product during my morning skincare routine, and if possible i skip it or replace with The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil. On days when I feel more pimple bumps coming, I apply more at night. On the other hand, on days when I feel that there's not much breakouts coming, I use the Tea Tree Oil instead. 

Anyway, the Clean Face, Clear Away Spot from The Face Shop definitely helped me in clearing away pimples and prevented further breakouts, just like the product claimed. I dont see my pimples leaving any scars, and usually the next day I wake up, I notice smaller bumps or even better, a clear spot on where the pimple was!

Of course upon applying, it stings a little just like the Tea Tree Oil does.

However with regards to a few pimple scars that I have on my chin and cheeks that are pretty severe, this product definitely DOES NOT aid me in reducing the marks. I am still currently trying to find better ways and observing how the Tea Tree Oil might help in reducing the scars. (If I ever do find some, I'll definitely share with you guys again!) 

How I use it:

I dip in organic cotton buds which can be purchased from The Body Shop. (I really love them as they are organic, soft, and have 2 different sides - conical & flat surface)

I think it is easier & better to use cotton buds compared to cotton swabs, since it prevents you from shaking the bottle. Furthermore sometimes cotton swabs might leave some threads or bits of fibre on your face and it can be very annoying.

What I disliked about this product:

What I really disliked about this product is the SMELL. Sometimes it really stings my nose, therefore I try not to inhale any of it. In addition, the product might be used up pretty quickly as it is a really tiny bottle. Therefore some of you might find it expensive for such a tiny bottle at $18.00... But I guess it's worth trying for a first time!

Overall

Advantages of this product:

1) Helps in clearing spots & prevents breakouts

2) The bottle is easy to handle

Disadvantages of this product:

1) Contains alcohol which can really dry out some people's skin. 

Hence, if you are really sensitive to such products, perhaps forego purchasing this and use Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil instead. If you are averagely tolerant or well-tolerant to such products, do go ahead and do try it!

2) Might be costly to some individuals 

Will I purchase this again?

Maybe. 

One thing that causes me to hesitate a re-purchase would be the fact that alchohol was used to make this product. Alcohol can be pretty drying and causes one's skin to age even faster so.. I might reconsider. Meanwhile.. I will be observing the Tea Tree Oil from Body Shop which I am currently using as well.
