DIY Crafts: Box Cards; Birthday Gift

Wednesday, 17 June 2015

Hello hello!

Let me bring your attention to the post title - yes as you can see, today I'm going to talk about a box card which I have recently customised!

So, my aunt actually ordered a handicraft from me with the intention to give it as a birthday gift to my uncle, how sweet aye?

Apparently, my aunt likes turquoise too, and thus the colour theme is... You know it. However, on a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is it to find papers turquoise in colour in Singapore..? Unfortunately, I'd rate it a 7 at least. It may be inaccurate though, since I did not have the time to check out spotlight or even popular... (But i'm sure popular don't really have them, even if they do they are sold in packs of 100 sheets or more)

Fortunately, I was lucky that I managed to get colours close to turquoise. I have to admit that this was fun to customise, and one of the most satisfying one ever.

I really love how I pretty much managed to achieve a similar "3d pop-up" effect just like those thick, 3d-like adhesive decorations sold at paper market/made with love. To think that I actually saved $10 to $20 on maybe.. 2 packs of decoratives with only less than 10 stickers each, it really made me happy and satisfied with a great sense of achievement.

Those decoratives are easily made from just coloured papers. Well of course, you can use the pretty papers from paper market or made with love too. I'll post up a tutorial some day soon on my YouTube Channel.

Speaking of that, I have finally uploaded my very first video on my handicrafts!

Do remember to support me by subscribing and sharing the videos with your friends! Tutorials and more videos will be coming up soon!

Do pardon me for the typo error towards the end... Enjoy the video anyway! :)
