Lightning Cherry: The Perfect Bento Tins

Tuesday, 16 June 2015

In this blog post, I am going to introduce to you my newly purchased bento tins that are so adorable and pretty in colours, and in variety of sizes too!

I've been searching hard year after year for bento tins that are to my liking. Being someone who enjoys cooking and occasionally preparing food or snacks for my friends, bento tins are a must... And guess what? I followed Lightning Cherry on instagram few months ago and I'm sure glad I did.

They posted photos of the bento tins that were going to be on sale at their booths, at the fleas a couple of weeks ago. I was so attracted by how the bento tins looked, and the best part - They were just what I have been looking for!

Therefore... I specially headed down to JCube during the 2 weekends, and ended up buying 4 bento tins. (You'll probably think "Huh? Why so many?!!")

Well.. I just couldn't miss out on this opportunity, and I know I'll probably need them for a long time... So it doesn't hurt to buy a few at once since I finally found the perfect ones, right?

Look at all the pretty colours!!! (They definitely look so much prettier in real life!!)

So cute, aren't they? :)

These two here ^ are very small in size, so they were way adorable than the rest. With the pastel-like colours, what else could have been more attractive than them? I personally feel that it's a perfect size for a bento tin if you are actually preparing a simple meal for one individual. The portion of food to be put in is definitely the best!

Now, these two here ^ are slightly bigger in size. If you noticed, the one at the back with 3 tiers actually has covers. While on the other hand, the one at the front has no cover for each tier - only the top tier has it.

It's good to get a 3 tier tin with covers for each because firstly, for better hygiene purposes. Secondly, you can probably use the covers as a plate if you want to. I'm not saying that the ones without a cover is bad though - looking at it positively, it's more convenient and less of a hassle to keep the tin away. You'll just have to make sure that there's no dirt at the bottom of each tier before you stack them on top of one another when you've packed your food inside.

This little one here with 2 tiers and in pretty pink shades costs $19.

While this one with 3 tiers and a combination of attractive colours costs $22

A pretty turquoise-like colour and pastel pink shades, this bento tin of a slightly bigger size & consisting of 2 tiers, costs $24

The largest one I've gotten is of a simpler colour combination at a price of $27. It was the first tin I purchased when I went down on the first weekend.. And sadly they ran out of colours available at the booth as it was the first day of the flea. Nevertheless, I still thought that it looked cute, and decided to get it because it will be really convenient for me.

They do have the type with no covers for each tier of the same size, and if my memory is still vivid enough - pardon me if I'm wrong - they cost $26 each, only $1 difference for the type with covers.

You might have calculated the total amount I spent on just bento tins.. But it's pretty worthy for a person like myself who don't shop much and hardly find things I truly like. Of course, if I know I won't be using them at all, I wouldn't even purchase one!

But..

I'd use these cute bento tins forever!! I'll keep them safe and in good conditions and pass them down for generations!!! ;)

I have not started using them, but I'll blog about them again once I do. Though from what I've seen while meddling around with the tins, they are really convenient for usage.

What's better than having a picnic one day with all these pretty bento tins? Sigh, I can't wait!

I believe Lightning Cherry will launch them online some day... I'm not so sure though. Follow them on their instagram for updates anyway : @lightningcherry

You may also want to follow @mitchmatchh for updates on all the bento tins too! I think I've read a comment where they said they will sell the tins on this account roughly by the end of June :)

Don't forget to get these cute bento tins then!!! ;)

That's all for today, I'll blog again soon!
